CASE_STUDY // KNOWLEDGE_BASE
What it is
A rich-text wiki built into Home Base with hierarchical folders, S3-backed attachments, and a training-assignment system. Leadership can assign documents to users or roles with due dates and completion tracking.
Why it matters
Training content was previously scattered across Google Drive, SharePoint, and tribal knowledge. Consolidating it into Home Base made procedures much easier to find and track.
How it's built
- TipTap editor for rich text — supports headings, lists, images, tables, and embedded attachments without leaving the page.
- Hierarchical folder structure with drag-and-drop reorganization. Each document can live in multiple folders via soft references.
- Training assignments: leadership assigns a doc to a user or role with a due date. The system tracks opens, scroll depth, and explicit completion acknowledgment.
- Per-document analytics help us see which materials are being utilized effectively.
What I'd do differently
Would add full-text search earlier. The folder structure works but doesn't scale past ~200 docs without search.
